Lawna is a blend of durable and fine grasses providing an attractive looking lawn able to withstand all the wear and tear expected from a family lawn. Lawna will grow well in moderate shade as well as open areas and has good drought tolerance in summer and retains excellent colour throughout the winter months. Turf can be laid all year round, in summer you do need to ensure that you keep the turf watered regularly. Purchase good quality topsoil and it should be well rotovated to allow for gradual blending and settling. It is very important to ensure that the prepared area is free from weeds, stones, seeds and other debris. Treat the topsoil with a good quality weed killer and prepare by using a pre-turfing fertiliser to promote a healthy root system. When you prepare the ground for turfing, use a soil conditioner to increase the soil’s ability to retain moisture.
Place the rolls of turf in a convenient position for laying and break the surface of the soil with a rake. Position the first roll by making sure the ends are butted together and use a plank of wood as a guide. When the first roll is laid down use the plank of wood to compress and to prevent marking the turf. Repeat these steps until all rolls are laid down and trim edges with a knife. During the growing season the turf can root down within a week. If you lift a corner of the turf and it is adhering to the soil then you can give it it’s first cut, set you mower to the highest setting and gradually reduce to the desired height with subsequent mowings. You should wait until the turf is well rooted, usually before walking on the lawn.
The Lawna is low maintenance and contains top quality grasses turf is harvested between half and one inch thick. You should feed the lawn every 4 - 6 weeks throughout the growing season and keep it regularly watered during the warmer weather. Our supplier are approved by The Turfgrass Growers Association.
The turf is either delivered using with forklift off load or on a pallet truck with pallet trolley.
